MELANOCYTES
The melanocyte is sensitive and is easily harmed by autoimmune conditions such as vitiligo or trauma to the skin as in superficial burns. The result is de- or hypo pigmented areas of the skin which often are a substantial handicap for the affected patient. Besides different kinds of make up there is today no other treatment, which actually increases the number of melanocytes. This cell type is cultured at a few labs in Scandinavia; however, we are the only ones using the cells clinically.
